What other bikes do you enjoy working on or riding other than your kz?

I’m a motorcycle mechanic by trade so I work on pretty much anything with 2 wheels. I’ve been able to verse myself on all brands. I will always love riding and wrenching on my kz the most. These kaws are so straight forward and easy to work on. I just did a drive belt on a 2013 Harley ultra classic and what a pain in the rear end. The primary had to come off and everything inside of it. The inner primary and then the swing arm and rear wheel. That bike thought the swing arm is a rear motor-transmission mount as well.

A friend bought a 2002 Bandit 1200 new, it was too much bike for him so he barely rode it. Let me have it for $500 spring of last year, 1100 miles on it. I did some upgrades and found it easy to work on. Carbs were really gummed up so still need to get those right...

Wow! Twins! I got this Bandit, a 2004, last fall with 4273 kms on it. I just turned 10,000 last night. The KZ is my sunny day ride now and the Bandit is my daily driver.

Back in the saddle and loving it! KZ1000A1

Sometimes it makes me want to have another motorcycle but where I am they are expensive, I was looking at a Yamaha FJ 1200 but they ask 9k for it, and you have to invest in it.

My buddy and I pooled our resources and currently have 12 bikes. Most of our bikes were $500 to $600 and dead when we got them. Now our dilemma is which bike to ride.
Today we worked on diagnosing what is wrong with an 81' GS 1100E. We resurrected this bike 5 years ago. I'm pretty sure one of the float valves is stuck or a float sunk or is stuck. We pulled the drain plug and dumped a bunch of gas diluted oil, it was overfull.
This bike is the reason we found one for ourselves, a silver 80' model.

I enjoy working on the Z1900 the best, but I also have Yamaha, Susuki, BMW and yes one Honda. They normally are in pretty bad shape so the entire bike comes apart and cases are split. I really enjoyed getting this 2002 GSXR1000 back on the road after it spun a rod bearing. Needed new used crank/rods/pistons/fuel pump/ new fairing/ new wire harness and many other small items.  It came to me in 3 large tubs and a rolling frame after sitting for 12 years. Dealer took it apart and then went out of business ,told the guy he better come and get his bike before the place is locked up, surprise, surprise, surprise.

Like Cra-Z1 my favourites are Z1's but they are getting scarce nowadays.  I also have a KZ1000 and a KZ650.  The 650 is my currrent resto.  My ride these days is a 2006 Goldwing with a Daytona 2+2 sidecar for our doggies.  Last winter I changed the oil and air filter on it....that was a winter project!  This winter I want to check the engine over as it has over 260,000 km on it.

I have several restored bikes along with a 2006 Goldwing with a sidecar. My wife has a 2019 Suzuki DR 650 for on and off road.

A couple of Yamahas. I built the cafe' out of a $200 Special I pulled out of an old ladies basement. It will probably never be "done". The '16 FJR is for longer trips or whenever I want to go in comfort. It's fast, quiet, comfortable, reliable, fast, etc.
