Happy Birthday Dave! I've wanted to ride down to the track and watch you race but i usually work on weekends so i've missed the chance so far.

Yes  and I'll be 66 soon and don't think I'll ever get over the need for speed either....... but I do need a kick in the butt to get out in the shed and get the motor back in (after replacing the starter clutch last spring for Christ's sake).

not a drag racer, am a road racer and only 54, so let say that from next year at 55 i will start calling myself an old timer

nevertheless, last year, at 53 got my first proper medal: national Italian vice champion in the Vintage open class with my Gpz750/810

i moved on now to a yamaha supermono racer, but have plans to build a 1984 kawasaki france endurance works replica, so might be going back to a kawi after all. will take a while though...

BTW, definetely not the oldest out there, there's a 60 yr grandad that always takes the 500 title and a couple super fast over 70 yrs guys too :) so looks like i still have a good 15 years of racing ahead. fun.

here's an action photo from last year

This directed at me Dave ? ...... Hell man I was just messin with ya....... Didn't mean nothin by it thought you'd get a laugh ...... been one of your biggest fans on here for a long time....... and no not really ran at the strip but I've done a lot of street racing on a blacktop that's measured out at 1/4 and 1/3 mile with friends and by myself...... majorly regret not trying it ......went quite a few times and honestly thought someday I would but never did.

zuk, sounded like a general question to me....

but you should add a warning too
drag or road racing, once you try addiction kicks in very quick, much like heroin and just as expensive :)
