Hi all !
Thank you for taking your time to read these and answer.

I`m wondering if anybody has experience with picking up the RPM electrical and what is the best way of doing it?

Please see diagram below from the installation manual.

I have an IC and two coils, as you already know, running no resistors on spark plug or cable.

I see they recommend different methods and maybe the best solution for me is to wrap the cable around the spark plug cable going to the first #1 spark plug.... ?
It would be nice if I could skip wrapping the cable around another cable... much more clean If I could connect to the "+" on the coil or something...

Chose option "C" - you can splice the RPM wire into one of the coil trigger  pulse wires between the "pick-up" and the igniter

Just for avoid I misunderstanding something here.

I just need one cable from the speedo for picking up the RPM signal, and these cable I will splice into the cable going to the coil from the IC ("+" cable), correct?
isn't matter witch of the coil I pick ?

I have used a diagram from a 750 (no D4 diagram in the file base) but you should get the idea :)

Ahhh nice !
It will not be any problem with noise either than, since I`m in front of the IC... clean hookup !

Thank you :)

Can't help you with that one - probably worth an email to "Moto-Gadget" tech support

Don't completely discount the "inductive" option. I have used this feature on my oscilloscope for some time, works great and Not invasive.

When it comes to picking up the RPM, I asked the same questions to tech support in KOSO and they answer these:"For the pickup sensor you must have a other setup, in this setup you can say,, how many points you haveThis setup from you meter can only the impulse or the frequencyBest regards

Are we sure we can connect it straight to the pickup signal ?

To be honest it's not very clear what they are saying, my suggestion is as per their instructions. You could initially try pushing the RPM sensor wire into the back of the plug for the IC igniter with the engine running and see it the tach functions correctly - I would forget trying to tie it into the "M" unit (I see no purpose for this) According to the below, since your bike didn't have an electronic tacho from factory "option C" is the next best solution. Also note they are recommending the pick-up for Cyl 1&4

I have challenge them off what they mean about "other setup".

Use option "C", grab the pick-up signal (only one not both).
Under some circumstances, like me (Dyna-III), you will need a signal amplifier (higher Output-Voltage) for the KOZO RX2N rpm signal input. I also use a shielded coaxial wire for the signal input . Any other un-shield wire could recive disturbing high frenquency radio signals of the ignition coils/wire = (bouncing needle effect).
This works for my application, had to go the hard learning step by step way. I wish you an easier path to go, so give it a try first.......
