Quickie....

Stole some time to mill my bearing cap at work. Got her right in spec for the APE cap reinforcement plate. Tomorrow, making covers for the cases and glass bead blasting.

So worked getting my engine buttoned up for glass / soda blasting. Took long enough, didn't get to actually blasting! Lol oh well next weekend I guess....

I also made my makeshift crankshaft measuring stand. Used parts of my wheel truing stand, some steel laying around, and a heavy duty ball bearing drawer slide.

It also allows me to check the bend and twist in the rods. You can see strapping in the corners to help make it less touchy during measuement. I did say it was makeshift..... Lol

Nice, I would love one of those packages arriving at my place!

I am glass beading and polishing out the cylinder and cases this weekend. May get my engine covers powdercoated if all goes well and try out my new oven.

Not to sound cheap, but DAMN cam bearings are expensive! $136 plus shipping from Z1..... Mine appear to be good yet, but with 70k + on the clock, a complete engine build deserves it.

I finally did that in 13. Mine looked good too but I thought some of the noise in the top end could be the bearings. No big change but I felt better.

LOL! When my box of cam bearings arrived in was really disappointed appointed in the lack of gold plating!

$8.50 for HALF a bearing for one journal is cheap?
