A bit more cleaning and I can start the masking on all the mating surfaces.
The block and head hve been at this point for quite a while, now.

The top end is almost sealed. All of the side/case covers require cleaning before they get put on. Still need to cap off the valve cover vents, intake/exhaust ports.

Looking good!
What are you going to paint with? I used VHT and regret it. Wish I knew what kind of paint Kawasaki used. That stuff was tough!

I am going to use PJ1 engine and case paint (rattle can). I have not found a heat resistant semigloss clear yet. They have the good stuff in the EU, but they are not allowed to ship it to the US. Since I plan on exposing the aluminum (fins, text, cam cover ends) I wanted to put a couple coats of clear on it.

Cleaning all the gasket surfaces is getting very time consuming. The final assembly will go quicker than this, I bet! Slowly getting closer to trying to lift this thing into my blast cabinet. I hope I have enough room to move the gun around with it in there...

Go buy an old lazy Susan from Salvation Army so you can spin it in your cabinet

You can see the blast cabinet against the wall. I think it will be too tight a fit to spin around in there! Good idea, though. I will need to put it in and take it out for repositioning several times. It's not the biggest cabinet, for sure.
