Chrome on fenders and rims was less than perfect back then. Few shops are able to do it correctly. Most make it look too nice. I had my fenders and rims rechromed and they are OK but overdone relative to OEM.
I have several restored bikes along with a 2006 Goldwing with a sidecar. My wife has a 2019 Suzuki DR 650 for on and off road.

Wow... it’s on backwards... oldtimers? I think so... still getting replaced because the chrome is crap...
Tripp did a great job on my stuff so far. He did the rear rim and didnt over do it. Is just right.

Got the front brake hoses, and splitter installed. Turn signals, rear seat stay and turned the front fender around. Then I played around and mocked up some body pieces I picked up over the winter. They were boxed back up till they can be painted.

Seeing how the chassis is move pretty well, I thought I’d start gearing up for the engine build. I dug up the cylinder block studs pulled so the cases could be V-blasted and found 7 out of 12 bent. Several were galled up pretty bad. What are my options.
- $120 ish for OEM?
- $100 ish for APE?
- Can OEM Head nuts be used on the APE?
- Shop evilbay for NOS@ a reasonable price ?

Use ape studs.
Cheaper and stronger.
OEM nuts fit them as normal.

It's something that's not noticeable by a rivet counter so you could go in confidence with APE. If you wanted 100% restoration (like my Chilliwack buddy) you would use OEM.

Looking VERY nice, Mikaw! If you do go with the APE studs, pay attention to the installation depth. You know, just because.
