Re: And finally, Wookie's 82 begins !
Still moving forward, I have removed the gold anodising from the front disc centres and painted with "high temp" black. Wheels are now fully assembled ready for new shoes on Saturday (Pirelli Diablo Rosso's) will still need to remove the back wheel again when the motor is done (schoolboy error, I forgot to measure how much I need to remove from the sprocket carrier to align to chain before disassembly)
I am going to make adjustable dog-bones with rose joints for the back end, for the rose joints to function correctly I need to isolate the needle rollers in the swingarm and linkage. There are several ways to accomplish this but I have chosen to make some isolators out of aluminium (donated by the scrap ZX9R stem I had
) with stainless washers inserted. Once bolted up this will lock the OE bearings and the movement will be in the rose joints - bit by bit it's coming together
