And the plot thickens even more...looking closer at the head I noticed the area around the buckets had some material ground off . Then I looked at the cams, and found out they are high lift performance cams. They are so tall the head had to be ground so the lobes would clear on rotation. You can see the new welded on material so they could be reground. The only markings I can see are a 417600 TP. I think they are .417 lift, which is what they measured from the circle up. They added about .110 on top and took .07 off the back.

More Photos of the cam and head, you can see the grinding relief on the head for clearance and the added material on the cam.

Per the photos you can see I need a set of cams' just trying to figure out what direction to go. Have these repaired or get a set of stock ones, maybe all new performance set. I also really don't like the left hand four into one either.
Any ideas on cam profiles from anyone?

As far as the profile goes are you sure you measured the cams properly because proportionally they do not look like they are over .400" lift (hard to tell from pics)
I suspect they may be less because the head would need to be ground more (no casting lines left in path way) I have two 650 heads set up to run cams over .400" and they both have more grinding than the picture you posted.
The last time I sent out cams to be weld and reground it cost as much as a new set (WebCam) The only vendors left that show pricing on new KZ650/750 cams are WebCam and APE. The listed prices are $875 and $760 before tax/ship.

I measured the cams again per the correct way and they are averaging .405" lift, with wear added in I bet they were originally .410".
