It appears that there is about a 1/4-3/8" plate sandwiched between the cover and cases. Might be something like a outboard starter plate modded for a stator?

Hope to get it torn down for paint this week
and lose the oil cooler so I can get the front
lower till I can have the neck rake'd anyone here I trust
to do it is talkin 6 to 8 month's till they could get to it

Don't rake the neck. If you need more wheelbase lengthen the swingarm.

Lorcan it's more to get the front lower then wheel base.
Right now if it wheelie real high with the GPz750 oil cooler
it hit's the fender.
Being in Texas where we can have 100 plus degree day's 2/3rd's of the year
I ain't removing it.

Zukdave, how about relocating the cooler, maybe in front of the forks just above the fender, or just under the headlight? That way maybe you can lower the forks in the trees. Just an idea that may save some time and moolah.
