My mother and father both rode Indians and Harleys but I'm not a big fan...but...I love to watch those Harley fuelers. The sound and thunder they produce is incredible. You feel these bikes make a run along with watching them. Just listening to those motors makes you think you can hear every time the plug fires...awesome. Hell of a show.

1980 LTD (changed over the years), 1979 LTD (being rebuilt), 1977 KZ turbo and various KZ's in various states of build. KLX110

Just don't stand to close, they will pitch cylinder heads. I've seen two, one I was a lot closer to than I wanted to be!

I believe it. The first thing I learned about motors from my father (and probably one of the last) was that the fewer the cylinders, the louder an engine *can* be. I get the appeal of the sound...just don't want to make the compromise myself.

Yes, the late great Jim McClure had a bad cylinder explosion in the late 90's.
Lifted him straight up in the air.
That started the using of the kevlar blankets around the cylinders.
Jim's injury never healed, which eventually took his life. What a nice man Jim was! God Speed!
Her are a couple more shots. Got to share em.

Some riders report that turning the bars right or left acts like an aerodynamic rudder and can help steer the bike, even though the front wheel is in the air.
