We are totally screwed by the contract. People learned very quickly to avoid the camera traps. So the camera company lost revenue, and the city had to pay the difference. So yeah, it's not really a big income for the city anymore because they have to pay millions to the camera company. (May need to fact-check this, but I seem to remember a story on it.) That's when they started playing games with the light timing to catch those who travel that route frequently. When you are used to a 5 second yellow, then the next day it's 3 seconds, you will get caught.

KFI did a story on it. They had to have pics of the driver as well as the plates, position, etc. Many got off that way. Others would just ignore the ticket in the mail. Then the light manipulating issue came up and the lawsuits that came with it. Many cities abandoned it but there are still a few out here. Most people will just pay or go to traffic school. I made the clip to show it is being done illegally. I have no problem with them if done right. Might save some lives or show who was at fault in case of an accident. If don'e illegally, it needs to be on the news for all to see.
Same for speed traps. :angry:
