Classic bikes crossing the Atlantic

Yes, there are more and more of the "I buy classic bikes" ads clogging up craigslist.

I've been looking quite a bit lately for my friend's sons and there haven't been a lot to choose from. We did grab a Kz400 for cheap, but that was about it.... used to be several 400's, and several 550's available at all times. Now zero. Prices have not gone up a lot, though. Supply is low, but demand is low also, apparently.

I think everyone is just getting Harleys. I'd rather ride a Japanese bike than a Chinese bike.

Yeah I used to think that flagging them sent a message to a moderator who would then remove them if they were misplaced. But now its definitely not like that (if it ever was) and it apparently uses a certain percentage or mysterious algorithm of viewed versus flagged to decide whether to remove them.

While it may not help if there aren't enough people doing it, if there are enough of us doing it maybe it will. I will continue to flag every one that I see.

If one is willing to consider other brands there are some great deals to be had.

We saw a very nice, one-owner, original condition Honda CB350/4, 5,000+ mi. at Mid-Ohio last weekend sell for $800.00 with title.

Saw a lot of buying by one specific group of [apparently] Japanese folks at Mid Ohio over the last few days that leads me to believe there will be a container shipment across the Pacific soon. I believe they are based on the west coast and known to be in the professional export/import business. Pretty sure they bring over some non-US bikes occasionally and sell them here so it’s not strictly a one-way process. I have no objection personally since I’m a free market economy kind of guy. I’ve been finding a lot of things I need for my GPzs in Germany and France lately

Now that they have relaxed the federal rules on importing vintage two stroke motorcycles. You can now legally title one of those two stroke machines most of us have only dreamed of owning like the Rg500, RGv250 Suzuki's and the Rz500 Yamaha's!!!!!

The Japanese send over a whole container of vintage two strokes, and then for the return trip they fill it with our Kz1000 MK. II's, Z1r's, Kz1000R's, and normal Kz1000's, Kz900's, and Z1's. I can't believe what a Kz1000R (ELR) will bring in Japan!!!!!!!

Some guy posted a wanted ad on my local CL, saying he'd only be in the area a few days. I did some research and found that he has an LLC transport corporation, no doubt through which he sells and ships the bikes he buys. His home address is in one state, the home address of his corporation is a rundown trailer park in another state, his corporation is delinquent in a third state, and he has been convicted of soliciting prostitution.
