I'd be interested in the crash bars if you want to sell them.

Leave it alone and have fun riding it. The value will drop in half once you start messing with it and most people that know or appreciate anything about these look at them that way. Had a '78 and miss it but someone else is enjoying it in the stock fashion. Pretty respectable survivor to me.
Enjoy

Looks like a great survivor. Would be a shame to paint it.

Steve..I haven't forgot. I'll try to get to it this weekend.

I'm very close to the end of a major house renovation and the contractor moved a bunch of materials we didn't use yet...and buried the bike. I had no other place to put the shit until this past weekend when I roughed in a bathroom. I'm close to being able to get the bike out. We had some nice days Christmas week and it was killing me because it was buried... I rode my Triumph instead.:)

When PA_Robert first posted and mentioned he was going to modify his LTD I offered to buy his rear seat stay... We exchanged a couple PM's which quickly switched to text messages.... In the course of those text it was aggreged that he only wanted me to cover the shipping charges, even though I offered several time to also add some cash to the deal... Well the package just showed up at my door a few days ago... Not expecting it I assumed it was something else I had recently purchased , I knew it couldn't be the seat stay because Robert didn't contact me about shipping cost... When I realized what had happened I opened the box to find an LTD seat stay... This offer from Robert is appreciated but not what we aggreged to... So Robert you have a check going out in todays mail to cover shipping cost, time and something toward the value of the item... I have also made a $50.00 donation to the site... I would have never been able to make the deal without this forum...

THANK YOU all for the expert advise I and others have received here.... All of us that ask more then help have to realize this is all volunteered time and direction, based on members love of keeping these iconic vintage bike alive... Thanks!!!

Glad you got it. He offered me the same deal on the crash bars. He said he's been busy on a remodel and the bike was buried. It would be nice to get them before I get the bike back on the road this weekend. I'd hate to put that monster back on. I too was thinking just the shipping was too little money and would like to add some even if it has to be a little at a time.
