Hi guys. I haven't posted here in a loooong time. But as they say a pic is worth a million words. Ivar told me not to sell my 400,and instilled a love for these bikes that cannot be replaced. Truthfully -the coolest guy I never met. Here's a million words----

I always liked his posts and pictures. What a sad loss for everyone.
I will miss him.
So the old Rocker gets out his bike to make a ton before he takes his leave. Up on the A1 by Scotch Corner
just like it used to be. And as he flies --- tears in his eyes ---
his wind-whipped words echo the final take and he hits the trunk road doing around 120 with no room left to brake.

Same here, I don't come around for a long time and come back to this!? It's shocking!
I remember one day I was talking to Ibby on the msn messenger and he was teaching me some Norwegian. He got a little chuckle when I asked him what language do you speak there in Norway and he said uh Abbie, it's Norwegian, lol... Then he was teaching me different words, which I can't remember now (I think maybe one was gimmel???), but it was a nice little talk. He was always one of the first to welcome new members and was always there to help out if you were stuck somewhere on your project. He is so sorely missed here in the Mellvis household.
so sad.

Dear KZRider Forum Members,
In honor of Odd Ivar Bekkelund, aka "Ibsen22000", I have created and produced a decal in his memory. All those who knew him would agree that he was a remarkable individual who was a notable presence on the www, cherished communication above all else, and always went the extra mile to accomodate everyone to the very best of his ability. The intent of this project is to preserve that very spirit by keeping Odd Ivar's memory and accomplishments alive.
The decals are available for $2.00US each, plus postage. To order just e-mail your request with your post address to cartech2000@yahoo.com
Regards,
SF48

Count me as another one who's been gone a long time.
Really strange, the timing, how I was searching for info on a bike I just acquired, saw a familiar name on another forum, (name I havent seen since I wandered off from KZR before the new format) and followed him back here to be saddened by Stein's message on the main page about Ivar.
The "Good ole days" will always be good, but they wont ever be the same. Ivar's passing is a great loss.
God speed, Ivar, and ride the wind!

I read this a few days ago and have been processing it... it's really sad to see a good guy go during his prime. My thoughts go out to the family.

I guess I'm also guilty of not visiting much since selling my KZ to another forum member.
I had some good conversations with Ivar at the old site and he always had the right thing to say. Like Abbie, he offered some lessons in Norwegian to this language-poor student.

I haven't been around in some months, and I'm very saddened to hear of Ivar's passing. He represented the best qualities of KZR and internet forums in general: always willing to help others and share his knowledge.

I am so sorry to hear of Odd Ivar's passing away.
I just don't know what to say except that he will be missed and remembered.
