It's cold
04 Nov 2015 14:10
Heading up to Phelan for another trip to Oregon. This time Eugene. Yesterday it was in the 80's. today it's in the 40/50's. Brrrrr.
A little rain leaving the low desert. It was clear and colder up there.
The rest of the trip is by car. My future son in law bought a new Prius. :S
Oh well, less wear and tear on her car, cheaper too.

Good thing you were prepared for the nasty weather, here in Ontario, Canada we are having the greatest weather ever for November, it feels like summer, too bad it wont last .
I have a 1980 Kawasaki KZ750 Ltd. I bought new. I recently managed to get it out of my garage after 28 years and put it on the road again (2010). I feel like a kid all over again. Since I have acquired 3 78 KZ1000 Ltd, 1 1981 KZ1000 Ltd, and another 1980 KZ750 Ltd. Love the LTD's.

Enjoy it while you can. In the desert, it can change in a heart beat.
Next week it can be back up to the 80/90's. I need some heated gloves. I couldn't find the zipper on my jacket at Arco. Looked pretty stupid this old man fumbling, trying to zip up his jacket. Couldn't feel my finger tips. :pinch:

Have to. Fighting for my granddaughter. Going to mediation. The guy's trying to take her for no good reason. Grandpa's the baby sitter while they battle it out. I thought my child rearing days were over. It's Ok. I'm just along for the ride this time.

Re: It's cold

I was taking a break at the Shell station at the bottom of the hill when this guy walked all the way from the pumps saying he just had to take a look at the bike. He knelt down smiling, looking at the engine. He told me he had a Triumph Bonneville and asked what year? I told him 75, "same year I was born." Another guy on a Harley bagger parked in front of me, music blaring and kept his back to me the whole time. He had a thin jacket and one of those scull cap helmets on. Must have been a local. I finished my cigarette the other guy thanked me for the look and the HD guy fired up his hog and took off beating a dump truck going up the hill. That's odd, I thought as I started Bossie. Half way up the hill, there he was, walking around like he was looking for something. Too cold to stop, I kept going. The bike seems to like the cold. I don't. Over the top and back down 1000' Not much warmer. Got gas, 12 miles to go. So here I am in the garage with a beer, cigarettes and lap top. Up at 4 AM and 14 hours ahead of us. This is getting old. Hopefully I'll be checking in from Eugene OR tomorrow evening.

Oh, got a used Mustang seat on eBay. The stock one was too hard. The one on the 550 was nice and cushy. This one was made for a later model. I made it work. Not perfect but I can ride a hundred miles without my back side killing me. New Dyna coils are in too. Came with yellow HT leads. Rather blue but they look and work good. Put on my freshly painted tank. All dressed up and nowhere to go.

It should be dry-ish this afternoon. If I had time I could come down and meet you.

I live near Portland, Oregon and my rider is a '76 KZ900 I bought new. I'm also in the process of restoring another one and a '73 Z1.
