Thanks. Cant they ever get wet and then dried out, like if I wanted to clean them in Simple Green?

Personally, I usually use 220 grit sandpaper, but that's mostly because I've always got plenty of that on hand.
Is this thing working? Is this thing on?

If your using br7es resistor plugs make sure your using non resistor plug cap.
You can only have one resistor in the circuit or it'll run like crap.

I have successfully used a soaking in some carb cleaner with a soft metal bristle brush follow up. Finish with a lite paper sanding ( 220 grit ) at the tips. Try that to remove your carbon. And yes, finish with a soft cloth to wipe off any potential residue.

That's really not a good idea if you actually mean SAND paper and it's not an American v English terminology. You'll score your bores to bits if you accidentally leave any bits of residue in/on the plug.

Warren, in re the resistor, forgive me for my ignorance, but what do you mean? that little bulb on the end of the spark plug? I take that off so the screw is exposed and it plugs right into the boot.
In re the rubber caps, not sure they are non - resistor. I have the red wires that go with the aftermarket coils dyna everyone raves about. They are green.

No mate. In br7es plugs the R stands for resistor. It's actually built into the plug. So if your using br7es plugs you can't use a plug cap that has a resistor built into also. Two resistors in the line will severely impead your spark performance and........... foul your plugs.
You want either a resistor plug or a resistor cap but not both or no resistors at all.

Just clean it like Warren said with the torch.
Your engine keeps them clean by keeping the ceramic nose between 450°C 842°F----800°C 1472°F

If you want to brush them up after burning (or in place of) there are specific brass brushes cheaply available specifically for this purpose

I agree and have used a propane torch. Takes some time so don’t have dinner warming up. The trick is to get the flame to swirl around the porcelain and get to bottom where the porcelain and steel meet.
