The best choice is WD 40 and a Fram filter changed whenever the oil level is no longer visible in the window.

On my old KZ650 I bought brand new in 1978, I changed oil every 2,000 miles always, but the older and more worn out it became, even with 2,000 miles intervals I began seeing sludge, and by the time I switched out the engine at around 160,000 miles, the sludge was so severe oil would not even drain out of the drain plug. This surprised me. I've never had sludge in an engine. This was long ago though, I think SE was the car oil rating and I mostly used Castrol GTX that advertised how it combat the sludge issue LOL.
321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.

Ever since '81 or '82 the only oil I have used in my Kz1000 and GSXR750 is Spectro Platinum 4 full synthetic 15W50 motor oil. It gets changed every 750 or so miles. Then I throw that oil in my car. The inside of my motors look as clean as when I first assembled them. The early GSXR motors are known to show massive amounts of wear on the cam lobes and rocker arm pads if ridden hard or raced. Even with over 10,000 miles on the Yoshimura cams and factory rocker arms, both show hardly any signs of wear on them. Same with my Kz1000 motors, they show hardly any wear marks on the cam lobes or bearing journals. Plus even after sitting for over ten years without being started the top end of the motors were still covered with a nice glossy coat of oil!! I am very happy with performance of Spectro oils in my motors!!

I had similar problems with Castrol GTX in the 80's. Waxy sludge build-up inside rocker covers.
If the tin says "combats sludge" then it probably DOESN'T!

Family biz delivery/limo service since 1980, I took over in '02.  Only ran heavy duty 10W-40.  Oil every 3k miles, filter (cheapest) every other service.  I'd buy cars with over 100k miles because I knew what mileage I could get and thats when the values really dropped.  For instance, a Ford Focus with 125k for $1800, Id get another 200k miles out of it.  Bought a 95 Dodge van new got 550k miles, valve covers were never off. Did two transmissions and a rear though.
