Safe products listing? was created by KeylAmi!
Should we start a "tried and worked" list of products for our bikes?
Obviously, parts ordered via the Kawasaki part number from reputable places (Z1?) will work without question. I'm more referring to places like amazon. Where all listings *claim* to work, but some dont?

I can start:
Bike: 1984 KZ700A

Known working/correct:
Carb Intake Header Boots (4 pc kit) :  www.amazon.com/dp/B07BVQ8RHW ($19.99)
Vacuum Petcock Diaphragm Kit:  www.amazon.com/dp/B00ANSY1GI ($12.95)
Airbox Boots (4 pc kit) :  www.amazon.com/dp/B08G616JSX ($41.95)

I like the idea, just not sure how to format it so it's a useable document (a spreadsheet in the file-base would work but I don't think the site will take an "excel" document - also with Amazon and E-Bay etc there are multiple suppliers selling the same parts from different sources)

I could make a public google sheets (spreadsheet) for KZRider users.
Read only, except for the document owner. That would mean that others that would like to add to the list will have to contact the document owner with the item details.
It would be posted here as a web link.

I could do
product name | link | price | seller name | date of last purchase

sorted by model? category?
maybe category makes more sense, as i could add "confirmed to work on models ...." for each item.

We have a similar thread (albeit more focused on upgrades and brand names) here:  www.kzrider.com/forum/13-bike-related/61...-are-actual-upgrades

If you are happy to manage it then you could post a link in the file-base (I can do that for you) and then members can email you the updates - worth a try (what's the worst that can happen  )

Wookie,
Here's the start:  docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/11Blm4QJ9...byU/edit?usp=sharing
Everyone can view it.
The nice things about google sheets is:  the links in the tables will show image previews, permissions are easy to set, anyone can *view* them, and transferring ownership to another google user is extremely easy.
For others to get in contact with me, what is the best option? I made a google account just for this project. though I'm hesitant to plop the email here, because web scrapers are a thing. I don't see an option here for direct messages, either.

Stereordinary, I wandered through the post you linked. Only really found one solid item link. If other users posted the links, and perhaps what bike it was used on and the price, I would happily add them to the list.

I would suggest you create a separate email account for this - then until the PM is up and running as intended members who want to provide content can shout up on the thread and I will provide them by email with that "dedicated email address" - I think it will be a "suck it and see" as to how much uptake there will be, but a list of recommended suppliers globally would be a great benefit

if you open the link, in the top right, there should be a colored icon. click that or hover over it, and it will show the email, i believe.
This is a dedicated email.

Wookie,
Do you think I should repost this somewhere else, instead of getting buried in the carb category?
How do you suggest encouraging members to submit past (recent) purchases?

My initial intention was to have a listing of products from "alternative" sources, that have been confirmed to work. Thinking on that, maybe it's better to have a list of *any* confirmed working aftermarket part, regardless of source?

Give me a couple of days and I will put some thought into it (also filebase isn't working correctly currently)
