I swapped the coils to see if the carbon would follow the coils, and now #3 which was the cleanest plug, now carbon'd up pretty quickly.
Maybe these "new coils/wires" the previous owner had put on could be an issue?

Does anyone recognize these coils? I can't find any part number on them, only this logo.
They are supposed to be new, but I have searched the internet and can't find them to ensure they are the correct ones for this bike.

I wanted to wrap this thread in case someone may run across it some day.
It turns out the PO at some point had the carbs serviced and the pilot jet plugs were not reinstalled. It's amazing when you get all the parts that are supposed to be inside the carbs actually inside them, how well it runs.
