KZ900 Spark Plug Recommendations

76-KZ900 here. Do any of you guys foresee an issue with using BP8ES instead of B8ES for my bike? I believe the only difference is that the BP8ES are extended, so I would think clearance with the piston would be the only problem if there was one? If this is not an issue, my next question is what  spark plug boots do you recommend?

Thanks

Clearly I do not understand.  Why would you not use the spark plug that the folks who designed the engine recommend?  Ed

Fair point. Because I happen to have a set of BP8ES available.

...and they no longer make the B8ES plug.....unfortunately.
I have several restored bikes along with a 2006 Goldwing with a sidecar. My wife has a 2019 Suzuki DR 650 for on and off road.

W24ES & W24ESU are good if you can't find B8ES.  Stay clear of BR8ES if you can since it has a resistor built in.

NGK plug caps are similar to the OEM caps.  They have a resistor built in (thus the plug doesn't need one.)

The stock wires are copper core.  Not suppression core, like car wires, which are resistance type.

Perhaps, but apparently the B8ES plugs are still available.

I asked my local motorcycle dealer about the availability and production of the NGK B8ES. He knows nothing about it and can order as much as he wants (the Netherlands)

You may be correct Ed.  But I've heard from several sources that they are stopping production.  It's been discussed here.  I wouldn't trust Amazon to sell NGK plugs made by NGK in Japan.  Fake NGK plugs are known to exist.

Edited to add that if they are still made, and that's the OEM plug of choice then that''s what I would use.

NGK makes non-resistor caps as well in all the same angles as the resistor cap. Other than the part number etched onto the side I couldn’t tell them apart visually. I think Z1 Enterprises used to carry the full range of styles, not sure if they do anymore or not. Maybe it was Dennis Kirk?
