08 Dec 2021 04:11Yes! They've been made in china since the 90's.I suspect they are all being built offshore in China now..
There's some identical copies that have appeared on Ebay etc in the last few months that even use the same part number so i suspect they are from the same factory but without the Dyna packaging .
The difference is the price which is a third of a Dyna and i know a few people who have bought them to try and they work just fine.
The same goes for the Dyna coils too.

Electronic ignition systems for 2 and 4 cylinder old Kawasakis. Not cheap though but is made in north America.

Looks like a lot of good options out there I hadn't know about (first time motorcycle owner and taking on a full restoration).
I found a company in California (4into1) that sells a Dyna-s kit with coils, hoods, and wires for $280 ( 4into1.com/electronic-ignition-kit-dynat...aki-kz650-1977-1980/ ).
I might go that route.
