risers available? was created by cnyl
Hi guys.
I'm trying to find risers to raise my drag bars up so I can use a zx9r front brake and master cyl. I'm looking to go 1" to 2". Anybody got a linky?

Thanks;)

Look at the universal 1" rise or they have one that has both rise and pullback. I bought a set these 1" risers for the Bandit I used to own.

They have risers come up on eBay all the time. At one time, they were pretty popular on metric bikes to raise or move back the bars. Many new bikes can't use this type riser due to over complicated handlebar engineering. Clip ons and funky bars like on my Goldwing. Genmar is the LEADING company making this type stuff and very popular with the Connie riders. I let a set of risers with 2" rise and 1" pullback go with my Bandit that I sold awhile back that were old school. They worked nicely as the mount bolt offset has never really changed for many Kaw and Suz models over the years. Some offsets will require you open up the holes a tad to allow the bolts to go through. Always use stainless and not the steel, zinc plated bolts that come with most risers.

jpcycles has a whole slew of them... downfall, mostly 1" bars and up. Same time, as I went with a Renthal Fat Bar that is 1 1/4" in the middle then tappers off to 7/8" at the bar ends, not a problem.

Old school KZ handlebars are 7/8" throughout. May need some spacers in the clamps if you go this route.

There's street/motocross risers that are for 7/8" bars...

Just Google 7/8" handlebar risers and a whole slew of links will be provided... All depends on what you're looking for...

Sometimes you just can't get the right bars. I prefer my wrists not be twisted onto the bars. I have a short set that is almost straight that I really like. The thing that would make them perfect is if they were about an inch higher. I have never found the equivalent in a bar with that extra inch in rise while keeping wrist angle the same. Seems as bars rise they twist the wrist in or down. Especially on the short flat bars, risers are the way to go if you like the bars. $90 seems a little much tho.

I had to go this route anyways due to old ass equates to no clip on's desired on ZX636 fork tubes! The back just wouldn't be able to cut it on a long ride...

Now she's just perfect...

That's what I have on my 900...Superbike Bars. I like the way they keep my wrists straight and not angled. But they would be a lot better with an extra inch of rise. Maybe 1.5 or even 2 inches would be OK. It would make the brake rez and hoses at a better angle and make the stock cables easier to route without binding too. Been on the lookout for a set of risers. I'm cheap and $90 like I said is steep to me. I'll watch the auctions and clearing houses....might get lucky. But if not I'll prolly bite the bullet in the spring and order those diamond encrusted $90 ones:blink: !
I had some on a old Suzi GS750 bomb I used to have with straight (broomstick like) bars but they had a setback too. Just want risers now.B)

That's the other thing...it gets the bars a little off the top of the fork tubes too. ;)

check with steel to see if 750 twin has same dimensions on top tree ,i know the twins ive seen have rubber mounted bar mounts/risers so it might be easier to adapt something to one of those triple trees.B)

I really like the drag bars I have. I've used the same kind of bars on many bikes and the risers will solve all my problems with the controls not hitting the tank plus gives me enough room to mount a cbr929 front master cyl and lever. The bike came with superbike bars on it. They felt pretty good but I like the way drag bars look better.lol Oh... The drag bars feel good too.;)
