Fender kit for welder impaired was created by DanOz7Five0
I made a fender eliminator today. I used 1" x 1" x 1/8" aluminum, and some aluminum sheetmetal. I cut it on 2 45s with a mitre box with a carbide blade and notched it to fit over the frame with the same saw.

Then I bent it over the edge of a workbench and mounted it to the frame where the rear fender came across the hoop and some new holes drilled into the hoop.

Then I cut the aluminum sheet to match my plates and attached that and a low profile cateye taillight to the back

I'll take better pics sometime, but Im impressed with myself. Only screwed up once and had to start over with the angle stock. I will probably try to use some of that door bumper trim to cover the edge between the license and the backing plate sometime soon.

Cool!

B)

If I may make a suggestion: how about using some of the flat aluminum to fill in the center of the "eliminator" to prevent stones and road gung from damaging the underside of the duck-bill, and perhaps your seat...

Nice work, from a fellow welder impaired. B)

I used a piece of heavy plastic (I found in the phone booth  ) to fill in the open areas.

What are those turn signals off of?

Good idea, It would help make the bent angle stock stiffer too.

Thanks for the compliments. I think including the light it cost about $25. I have another one to make for my 650 soon too. I might see if I can polish up the aluminum sometime.

I was thinking of someway to make one out of wood since thats where my specialty is, maybe a license plate frame LOL

Wow, that sure came out really nice! B)

Any issues of vibration noise or wear marks to the rear plastic fender after riding it?

I really dont remember what they came from. I found them on a wreck at the junkyard last year. There were short stems on them, but I took that off and mounted the signal right to the frame. I found a similar but smaller set on a scooter that Im going to put in front sometime. If I get rich again soon I think I saw some signals that kind of match the taillight that I might put on
