The tire is a Dunlop Elite 3. Now if some other brand or model were to be made at the outer edge of the sizing tolerance, it might be too large. Therefore I hesitate to say that any and all size 140 tires would fit. I took a chance and it worked out.

Hubs only accept certain tire widths before they get dangerous. Ya don't want to squeeze a big wide tire on too small a rim, it distorts the tire. If you want that look you should be looking for new rims too. Also as was said they have to fit between forks and swingarm. For that look I believe you are looking at some $$$ and heavy fabrication. Not impossible but .......... be advised it is an aesthetic mod and does affect handling adversely by adding centrifugal effect and unsprung weight. Might not matter to you but it is a consideration.
He has a shafty so new rims are out. Go with a 130 in the rear and you a 100 in the front. A 110 might not fit.

haha ok thanks for the input so far....what about a good place to buy them??
oh and what are the other numbers i need?? sorry i have no clue, but when lookin up tires there are 3 numbers

The numbers are like a car tire. The 130 is the width in cm, the 90 is the percentage of the width for the height of the sidewall and the last number is the rim diameter.

If you have a stock '83 shaft, then you have a 19" front and a 16" rear.
