re-using head bearings

thanks guys, I got it all back together, filled to the brim with bearing grease. It is smooth as glass. the races appeared to be fine. I did notice that when I tighten up the BIG nut on top of the triple tree she got to feel a little chunky, so i backed it off until it felt smooth. Is there something I should know here or did I make the right call.

if you mean the round nut with holes for spanner wrench you did fine.do not overtighten or you will put flat spots in bearings over time. goodluck,happy wrenching!

yup that would be the one. I went habd tight and then a few taps with a screwdriver and small hammer.... seems ok. The stripped down and repainted triple looks awesome. IMHO
