Front end washout?? was created by IowaKZ
Hey, I noticed a the last few times I have ridden that I am getting some front end washout on some corners. At least that's what I think it's called.
I'll be going around a corner and the front wheel feels like it slips to the side 3 or 4 inches.
I'm not riding really hard, I noticed it lately when I went around a small roundabout (yes, in Iowa). The last time I noticed it was turning onto a side road. Both were turns to the left.
I am running dunlop 404 tires which I always felt were not very sticky. I also noticed that I need a new fork seal on the right fork (will replace both soon).
I have quite a bit of tread left, but I'm wondering if this problem is the tires or the forks (also sure that the fork oil has not been changed for at least 4 years since I got the bike, maybe never since 1980).
Any thoughts on what the cause of this is. I don't enjoy it very much as you can imagine. I feel like I can't trust the bike too much in a corner.
Also, another question, what will progressive springs do in the forks for me?
thanks.
Ride safe..
Dale

I think you need to service your forks.
I bought a A4 several years ago after riding more modern bikes and it was like riding a bicycle.
It was the forks. One didn't have as much oil as the other. Roy

not that hard. I guess it's all relative. I like to take my time. I'll open it up on a staight stretch, but I don't do any knee dragging. Some 2 up riding with my wife or kids.
