- TURBO, Its Better to be Blown than Injected
The old Bridgestone 130 x 16 tire gave its all , but now its time to give it a Vikings burial.
I used to have a Pirelli Phantom 150 tire on the bike years ago and would like a new wider V rated tire on the Turbo bike, but so many new choices. Looking for some ideas and experiences the group may have on a V rated tire that gives great traction , and great cornering. Tire life is not a priority over performance and fit. Will also need a new front tire , V rated to match the new rear. Not wanting a drag racing only tire with square corners as the bike is used mainly for performance cruising. Front tire size is limited by the fender on the LTD to a 100/ x 19 size , but would like another 150 if the new design tires will fit , or will go with a 140 x 16 if that's all I can fit.
What say you ???? Avon , Pirelli, Shinko ???? others ??
Thanks in advance
Dave

also have the same tires on my road king in a 130/16 front and 150/16 rear.
the z1r handles beautifully.
and the road king handles less like a pig  .
or better than with dunlops or michelins.
i wouldn't be afraid of any of the brands you mentioned tho.

Thanks Leon.
Mostly wondering do you know if a 150 will fit without hitting my chain. As different brands sizes can vary a little in actual size . Safe money is on a 140, but miss my old Pirelli Phantom in 150 size but unsure if tires currently available will fit in a 150
Thanks Dave

you know me if i wanted a 150 in there i would buy one and make it fit.either by grinding the side of the tire down with a 4 inch grinder or notching and welding my arm up.
but that's just me.
sorry to be of no more help sir.

After careful research, measuring, and consideration I am going with Avon AM 26 Roadriders.
Rear size which is Avon MT 90/90/16 which is slightly wider than my Battlax 45 130/90/16
Front tire will be Avon 100/90/19
Don't feel like making the 150 fit as in Avon the 150 is over 6 inches wide, so chain clearance would be nill and they don't offer a 140

Like was suggested, When I do get a new swingarm , I will load it with a 150 or larger tire. But for now the MT 90 made the most sense
