Hey all,
I'm going to drop the Vetter and LTD bars from my '77 and want to know what people are using for "standard" bars. Z1 has 7/8 superbike bars and 7/8 European bars....which do you prefer? Thanks!

When I replaced the bars on my 81 750E I used the Daytona bars. Slightly more rise than the superbike bars.

I'm running Superbike bars. I originally was going to use Euro bars but didn't like the look.
Here's some shots of the two

Thanks for the pics and replies! Looks like both are better than the LTD bars but I'm going to go with the Superbike bars. Seems like the flow with the 1/4 fairing is better with those and I plan on installing one I got from the PO.
I think I know the answer but, is it true that I'll have to change all of the lines/cables as well? Also, thought I saw a post about using rear turn signals on the front, do they mount on the headlight bucket or triple trees? Vetter has them now so, I'll be finding two others for the swap.
Thanks!

I had the superbike bars on both my KZ650 and KZ1000 for 240,000 miles. Only way to go long distance as it takes the weight off your rear which is always there with high bars. I returned to stock bars on both just because I wanted the bikes stock and I don't ride them long distance anymore, but the lower bars were a huge improvement.

I have read that with superbike bars you do have to change lines/cables.
I'm also hunting for something different for my '77 LTD. Too much pullback, my wrists really start to hurt after even short 30 minute rides.
I'm not sure that I have the stock LTD bars, what do yours measure at? I get 5" rise, 28.5" width and 9" pullback....or thereabouts. Measuring them installed on the bike so I may be off a little.

Hey, I'm gone until next week but that definitely sounds close to what mine would be. I'll measure it when I can and PM you.
Ron, thanks for the comments, I definitely sit "up" too much for my comfort on longer distances with the ltd bars. Z1 tomorrow

I never changed anything. I will go with shorter clutch and throttle cables when I need them.

I went with the EMGO Euro bars myself. Very comfortable. No fatigue on the wrist or back.

The more I look the more I get confused. It seems every vendor lists the specs (Width, Rise, Pullback) for the same bars different.
I'm thinking of trying the Daytona bars. Looks like Z1E will exchange them as long as you don't install them....then again....it will cost more to ship them back than the cost of the bars.
