By the way, you aren't the first to have a stuck axle nut.
I've revived old ass motorbikes where I had to use a 18" to 24" cheater bar extension , on a breaker bar/socket combo to get the axle nut to break loose.

I would use a torch to heat the nut, then just use a breaker bar. The tensioner screws shouldn't affect the axle bolt, as they pull the entire axle assembly.Probably good to ensure they're loose before trying the nut though - the only way I can see them being damaged is if they're in tight and you wrench the axle bolt.

Good point and should be obvious... same thing with using a torch to heat the nut!!! Watch what you are doing and be careful... for my sake... don't do both!! LOLIrish Yobbo wrote: If you try the ATF and acetone, be sure you don't get it on your paint.

When you put it back together, consider using anti-seize and a torque wrench so it doesn't get stuck again.
