The 82 GPz was solid red, but I really like the idea of a candy red,

No rules on colours, whatever you like, but I think graphics shape and placement is critical to make the lines flow.

I can see that... I like the darker red mine is now, mainly because it's an original bike, but the lighter red seems appealing too. If you do it, I sure would love to see a projects thread.

Just came across this forum. I am finishing up a 1982 Gpz 750 R1 and helps to be inspired by a finished product. Bike looks great! I will also need paint so this information is helpful.
My current issue is cable routing. Could use some help in that area - particularly clutch cable.
