This looks like the place to be!
I picked up a '73 Z1 last weekend and couldn't be happier, which is surprising considering I'll be spending money I don't have on the thing! Here's a pic of the beast.
The Z1 was the bike to have when I was in high school, well a Z1 or an H2! As you can tell by my screen name I love the smokers too! I got my S3 400 in couple of boxes and first did it up as a cafe racer. Now it's back to stock form.
Before
After Cafe Racer
And now Stock
I hope to do pretty much the same thing to the Z1. These bikes have to have the best lines in motorcycle history!
I'm sure over the next year or so I'll be asking a lot dumb of questions and hopefully in a time I'll be riding a classic Kawasaki Z1 with a little help from the KZrider crew.

Nice wheels...
Get a manual, you'll love it.
..and an inline fuel filter, if it doesnt already have one.
Cheers, funtimes!

Thanks for the welcome guys!
Nice Yamasaki??? I had to take a closer look.
And my garage is generally a mess, well my side anyway!
Yeah I'm really stoked about this bike.
It does have issues though.
It won't shift into 2nd. is really the big one. I guessing a bent or worn shift fork. One of the fork tubes has a little pitting, no ignition switch, etc.
I'll have to go over it a little more and make a list.
Let the fun begin!

The only reason the garage is as tidy as it is was I had to make room for the Z1.
The wife didn't think another bike would fit. I showed her!
If you saw my basement you'd probably give me 1000 free post! LOL!!

Steve, Before you go crazy chasing 2nd gear... Make sure there IS a problem. Period 900/1000's have a centrifical lock-out inside the output shaft which prevents shifting to 2nd unless rear wheel is spinning. Luck, and welcome GB)
