The Kawasaki I've had in my shed for 2 years while I waited for the owner to come up with funds for parts and machining costs, I got so frustrated with him that I offered to buy the bike so it could be put back on the road and so here I am with a 76 900, it's been rego-ed and on the road for about a month.
I've had a bit of trouble with the oil rings but it seems to be good now after putting a new set in, the bike has pods and a pretty big flat spot just below 1/4 throttle which is right on cruising speed, I could futz around with jetting but seeing as I don't like the induction noise I have ordered an early model airbox from Z1E which I am still waiting on n can't wait to see how it fits.
Anyway, this is just an intro so I'll leave it there. Here' are pics of my two old bikes., great to be on board.
Cheers, Nic.

Those are two beautiful bikes, man. I'm jealous. It looks like you really know your stuff. I'm glad you're here because I don't know much of anything and having guys like you around is the reason this site is so great for guys like me.

Really liking the seat on Z900. Is that an LTD seat that you reshaped? Any information you can share about would be great!

Joe, the seat was on the bike, I think the PO had some foam pulled out of the front, this type of seat cover was all over the place back in the day but I never did find out who actually did them, There was a similar one on the Honda when I bought it, see pic. I reckon any decent motor trimmer could sew one up for you, I like how the ribs are nice and pronounced, you just need to use a bit of softish 1" foam inside the cover and run the stitching across to get the look, of course, the cover is not waterproof with the stitching.

Thanks for the info, yeah I still have the tab in a box somewhere, looking forward to fitting the box, won't ride the bike until it's here n fitted, I'll ride the K2 in the meantime.spdygon wrote: Nice rides....love the way the Z1 air box fits on my 76kz900. Only thing you'll need to do is trim the bottom mounting tab a little if you still have the original rear air box support.
