Just found the site this morning and I`ll be here often as I have a `78 KZ1000A I bought about 1 1/2 years ago. It`s all stock except a previuos owner added the cast wheels.I didn`t ride much this past season due to recovering from back surgery but I am planning some upgrades over the winter to hit the road hard in the spring.First thing will be an upgrade to dual discs in front and then K&N air filters and an aftermarket header.Previuos bikes were a Bridgestone 100,a Yamaha DT125,a `79 GS750,`80 GS850,`85 KDX 250,`91 KX 250,`99 KX 250 and a `87 Can Am 500 ASE (back back=no more dirt bikes :( ) Along with the KZ I have a `72 DT 250 I`m restoring.I`m also into four wheels and have a couple muscle car Mopars in the garage.

I tried attaching a pic but my server seems to be down.

Welcome Jeff! Wow a Bridgestone 100! I used to thumb rides and ride bicycles to the next town to see them at a dealer. You should love this place! Wireman should be around soon to give you the official welcome! Have fun!

Funny there was a thread a while back about Can-Am's.B)

Bridgestone 100 - first bike at age 15.It was a street model but I put on some knobbies and a plastic front fender and rode the heck out of it for a couple years. Can Am was a mean bike, that 500 two stroke would pull like crazy.Been looking around-definitly a cool site with just the kind of info I`ll be needing.

Welcome to KZr Jeff.

You sound like you have similar interests (besides the KZ) to me....into rock-crawling my truck, and I'm a HUGE Mopar fanatic (Chevy & Ford suck....watch the backlash I get from this statement!:whistle: )

Seing as how you said you plan on changing a few things on your bike (the header, brakes, etc.) do yourself a favor and hold on to the old parts if you have the room to do so.
KZ parts are similar to some Mopar parts, they're like gold to the right person!
Besides, they can really come in handy down the line:
1) Returning the bike to it's original state if you choose to sell it (an original bike is almost always worth more than an altered bike).
1A) Most parts for our KZ's are no longer manufactured, so spares or replacements can be almost impossible to come by sometimes and can be very costly!
2) You can always list the swapped parts on eBay or in the classifieds here to finance another project/for "mad money" that the missus doesn't need to know about..
3) Those swapped parts can be used to barter with other members here who just might have that long sought after part YOU need/want.

Oh, when you get a chance I'd suggest listing your bike model and year as well as your location in your profile.
It beats constantly repeating what bike you have with any tech questions you might have, and you never know what other KZr member might be near you to lend a helping hand or to go riding with.

Have fun! :)
