Carb question

Hey folks, new to the forum, currently living in Ottawa ON. 
I recently picked up a 1982 kz1100A shaft for a bobber project.  The previous owner bought it new and last rode it in 2015 I think he said. He worked at Royal Enfield for years but whatever skills he had there didnt translate to the kawi, it was a disaster, from the wiring to the excessive amount of orange silicone on every gasket that he replaced. I tore out the complete harness and started from scratch, that part was easy, but my question is this, its been awhile since i worked on a Mikuni carb( harley guy) and i cant quite remember if these holes are just duds, or if they are supposed to be plugged. Ill trybto upload a pic but the holes in question are located on the engine side of the carb, below the throttle control valve, carbs 1 and 4 have a pin that goes through the carb with a lock clip on one end ,but 2 and 3 do not have the pin coming out of one side, once again, previous owner had them plugged with silicone. TIA

I'm not familiar with those carbs, but the #4 piece looks like a Choke pluger.
Odd position for the choke plunger, but again not familiar with that model carb.
If the chokes, then all four should have them, as well as a linkage to push and pull on them.

Hey, thanks for the reply, these carbs don't actually have a choke, they have an enrichener and those are located near the top, everything with those is all good. I'll post a pic of the complete carb bank.

I've never seen a set of carbs with that nub piece before.  It doesn't show in the parts fishe, either.  I have seen those blanked off bosses before, and they don't go through.  You can try putting a piece of wire inside the boss, just to be sure.

Same here, and if I did see em then there was apparently no reason to remember it lol I've been working on mikunis for 35 years and this has me stumped. To answer your earlier question, the only diagram that I have is the one in the clymer book that came with the bike but it doesn't show anything about it, not that I can find anyway. I stuck a small pick in the hole and it feels like there's a small hole on one side of it, that's why I'm asking.

Those blind hole bosses are on every BS32-BS34 carb and don't go anywhere. They are merely for the throttle/butterfly return spring holder. They are on both sides for flexibility in application. Absolutely no need to plug them up.
