Hi,

i'm new to the forum but have read and learned alot here.
But also have had conflictiong information so i am making this post to make sure mu plan will work.

I have a 1982 Kz 1000 ltd i am rebuilding.

I want to hop it up a lil bit to kick my uncles ass...

This is my plan

going to bore out to 71mm and install wiseco pistons

higher compression ratio than stock is that ok ?
www.wiseco.com/shop/powersports/pistons-...ODrpoRX4MhuZkpYyEFEQ

My original cylinder head has some bad friends vracks etc so i found a gpz 1100 B1 head to replace it.
I'm pretty sure this head will work with my engine but what do you guys think?
will this head mess with the compression ratio?

I have also bougth to go with this head a set off valves springs buckets etc from a GPZ 1100 ZX.
So the springs are better than my originals and can handle the big gpz 1100 zx 83-84 camshaft.

So am going to go with a camshaft from that gpz1100 zx. will it be plug and play or do i need to swap over the sprockets?
My engines rpm isnt read off the cam so no problems there.

Long post...
hope you guys can help me out

cheers

Hey Eliott, welcome to the fun!
Your piston upgrade will work great, between the slightly larger bore and 10.25:1 compression, you'll notice the improvement.  One thing to keep in mind, give the new pistons to your machine shop so they can machine your bores for the proper fit.
As far as your head replacement, other members can recommend the cylinder head / camshaft / cam chain options for what you want to do.

Welcome to the forum.

The B1 head has injector holes in the intake tract casting, and will need to be "plugged" by (1) thread tapping each of the 4 holes and installing grub screws, or, (2) the  holes could be tig-welded closed.

...OR, find a B2 GPz head that does not have those holes. (the injectors on the B2 are mounted on the throttle bodies and not directly in each intake tract, as on the B1 )

...unless what you actually have is a B2 head...
