Ask and ye shall receive B)

Was this fast enough?

I'm going to go put on the second coat, but it's not going to look any different. Some of those tubing joints are a PITA to get to!!!

I really like the color. Speaking of the sun, are you worried about UV damage with all the carbon fiber? Assume you didn't wrap it just to paint over it. Polyester or epoxy resin?

Great choice on the color! Interesting question about what affect UV will have on the carbon fiber...didn't Chevrolet have to develop some hideously expensive clear coat to protect the hood on their supercharged 'Vette?

Excellent question! The resin by itself doesn't have any uv protection (I'm using epoxy). In order to prevent the resin from yellowing, am automotive clear cost must be applied to protect the part. BTW, my parts aren't wrapped, they are full carbon B)

As for the frame paint, I'm liking it too, but I wanted it a little darker, so I tossed in some copper kandy in the last coat. We'll see tomorrow what that looks like in the sun :woohoo:

My bad on saying they were wrapped, sorry. Even high end clears don't provide much more than UV resistance, but I supposed you're not worried about structural issues.

It's no biggie. There is another member that did wrap his body work, and it turned out awesome.
As far as UV protection, automotive clears absolutely provide it. In fact, the clear coats duel purpose is to provide a durable shiny surface, and UV protection for the color coat under it. Without the UV inhibitors in a standard clear coat, the pigments used in basecoats would fade pretty quick. Now, UV inhibiting epoxy resin is another animal all together. I'm willing to bet that is what GM spent truckloads of money on, because that's not something I can walk down and buy for myself. I do appreciate the concern though, since my fuel tank will be a structural item. At least, I need it to survive and function. Not just look pretty like the side covers and the fenders :P
