Dropped off gas tank for derusting; modified rad fan to clear engine mount; ordered exhaust flanges/gaskets and lower radiator mount; ordered powder for calipers.  After the holidays i'm gonna get with the welder and have the radiator mounts finished, rear toe brake done and the titanium header welded up.

Wow, that engine is small, imagine putting that in something like a 1981 GPZ550...!!!!

I have even bought a ZX600R 1986 NinjaR engine and all the running gear and cooling hardware.  It bolts right up into a KZ/GPZ 550 frame.
Just need to find a late model mono shock 550 cheap that I can use as the donor/engineering mule.

Engine comes out tomorrow; frame, triples, wheels, swingarm, etc going to powder coat; bodywork to paint next thursday; forks to shop for service; engine to shop for a health check.  Hoping to have everything back by Feb 1 to start reconstruction and get exhaust sorted out.  Halfway there!  Next up, order seat, headlight and mounts, final electrical components and chain line.

Forks are done.  Waiting on powder coat and engine from shop.  Little behind my original schedule but optimistic to have it completed by May.

Getting tires mounted on freshly powdered wheels this weekend.  Got the brake calipers put back together.  Waiting on stem bearings to get the front end put together and swingarm pivot bolt for the rear end. Should have a roller next week.
