That sucks, don't know where your new stator is coming from but "CARMO Electronics" based in the Netherlands do rewinds for around €100

All good for now with the 750 stator. I ordered the new one from z-fever here in Germany. They usually have pretty decent replacement parts and it costs about the same as the cheaper one from Carmo.

Dropped the bike off today. The guy said he doesn't reckon there'll be any problems with the MOT as the paperwork is all there. Lets just hope the electrics are sorted!
Unfortunately the MOT guy can't make it this Wednesday and next Wednesday is a holiday. That means I have a couple of weeks to work on the spare parts bike...

Just a quick update. Got word yesterday that the MOT guy finally had a chance to look at the bike. All the mods have been approved so it's basically through the MOT. Just waiting on a sound test and a dyno run next week to get the numbers for the paperwork. Will be interested to see the dyno data. Even though the guy said he won't push it too hard as the engine hasn't been run in yet, it should still give me a good idea of torque and power distribution.

I'm off for a couple of weeks on Monday so I've arranged to pick up the bike on June 7th. Will get the paperwork beforehand so I can register the bike and ride it home. It's a very nice two hour ride through the black forest. I'll be taking my time though...

I bet you can't wait. It's a testament to the standard of your work that it's gone through the TUV   My brother in law lives in Heilbronn (not to far from you I believe) so I know what fantastic roads you will have to enjoy (we passed through there last June on the way back from Italy but the schedule was too tight to grab a coffee with you, maybe next time ?)

I'm pretty sure I'll be like a kid at Christmas when I head over to pick it up.

Heilbronn is pretty close (about 1-1.5 hours, depending on the state of the motorway). Definitely give us a shout if you're over again.

About time for an update I reckon...
Got the bike back about two weeks ago. Put about 500km on it and have got through all the teething problems. Have a very slight oil leak around the stator wires but other than that it seems pretty dry. Need to look at the jetting sometime as well - it doesn't like going slow at all! Also may need to lean it out a bit if I'm going to keep riding in 30-35° heat. I'm hoping that won't be an issue for long, though.
The license plate bracket needs some tidying up, but I'm calling this one "finished" - at least, as finished as any project ever is...

Thanks guys!

@Scirocco: There's a padlock on my wallet at the moment, so I'll be sticking with my 3.00 and 4.25 rims - easier to find decent rubber for anyway...
