had the 12 to the dragstrip on the wknd for the first time:evil: :) I was spinning like crazy with the shitty tire off the line (shinko u soft of back order) couldnt get a good launch at all, even with 8.5 psi in the tire:woohoo:  :S my 60fts were in the 1.8-2.0 range:blush:  :pinch: but my best time was still a 10.223 in the 1/4:evil:   my best mph wasnt on that pass, but i ran a 10.5_ something at 141.XX mph. that thing has serious top end! I was running down a lot of super pro cars at the other end after they got the jump on me, and im still geard high. trappin in 4th not 6th gear. made a total of 55 passes in 2 days!!! damn that was fun! ran those times on a stock motored bike, just a muffler(stock headers) and K&N air filters. no power commander(but i just recieved 1 in the mail this week) its stretched and lowered, but otherwise stock. i cant wait to get a good tire and drop my 60s to 1.5-1.6 and run 9s. im going to try and advance the timing a bit too with my power commander and get a bit better of a fuel map for a few more hp aswell

That's doing great so far. My Godson has a 2004 12R with a Brocks header and power commander dialed in on Brock's dyno and was only running 10.7's best but mostly in 10.8-10.9 range. He thought that was fast but I though he should be running lots faster as Brock told him the bike was capable on low to mid nines. Brock said that the bike made 189 HP on the dyno and my Godson and his father was standing there as he ran it on the dyno, so that part is true. Godson is just starting out in his racing though, so he has a lot to learn. Trying to get him to slow down and learn how to "ride" but he is only interested in rotating the earth every time he runs, so.... Heard lots of guys claiming low 10's on stock bikes but I've never seen one turn those times. I have seen and talked to a guy running 9.5's consistently with a header, power commander, lowered and stretched 9" (that he's told me about) but this guy can really ride... Keep us informed of how you do, I'd like to use it as a guage for my Godson's learning curve on his bike.

tell him he should have got the faster "A" model ZX-12R;) is he stock length and ride height? is he strapped? what gearing?
im sitting at 8 over (main reason for spin without a good tire) im lowered 1 inch by sliding forks up in the triples (DONT go more as they taper a bit and can come sliding way up after a wheelie) and im lowered about 2 inches in the rear with lowering links. no need for a strap YET, but ill probly need one when i get a tire. it was picking the front end up off of the suspension on my best launches, but not bringing the wheel clear as far as i could tell. im geared 17 46 and its still too high. stock is 18 46. i have a couple rear sprockets ordered to try out, a 48 and a 51. i recieved my power commander to try out too, i think the bike needs a slight tweek because of the filters and muffler. i may add a few degrees of advance aswell:whistle:

Hey Scott - Gotta say that is damned impressive. That thing really can dance. You put down some haulin' times.

On behalf of the fellow Kz riders, congrats (even though it wasn't done on a K bike.)

You did well Grasshopper:) (ah shiiiit you are probably too young to remember the TV series Kung Fu:)
