Drive Chain was created by Elfarm98648
I recently ran out of adjustment on my cheap chinesium 630 drive chain and decided to make the 530 swap. I’m not making this thread to go over the 530 swap details that have been done time and time again. During my hunt for a good 530 chain that didn’t make me and my wallet lighter on a scale, I stumbled upon Amazon warehouse. It’s basically a separate Amazon but it only shows items that have been returned. Searching here I found a D.I.D. 530 VX3 110 link chain for $67.75. 8 links longer than what I need but it was $68 vs the $200 for the same chain. I’ll update if anyone is interested in the condition of the “used” chain when it comes Monday. If it is actually used and has been ran on a bike then it’s actually still returnable. With any luck I’ll do the 530 swap with JT sprockets and D.I.D. O-ring chain for around $110!

Sweet deal. If you do not yet have a chain riveter and breaker, D.I.D. Makes one of the best. Yes, it is more expensive than most, but it does an excellent job and will likely be the last one you ever need to buy.

It came today and my first impression is that it’s repackaged. It came like this.
It is wrapped in a D.I.D. Wax paper in an Amazon bag.
The chain itself does not appear to be used, the rollers show no wear. It is missing the master link so I’m not totally impressed. The chain also appears to be a few links short. Upon counting I can count 48 gold links. Would this not mean it is a 96 or 98 link chain with the master link installed? It was advertised as a 110 link and we are nowhere near that.
This picture shows the chain doubled on itself so anyone can see what I’m seeing by it being possibly too short.

That is indeed a 98 link chain.

Darn, that what I was afraid of. The KZ750 need a 102 link chain IIRC. Between the missing master link and the chain being too short I think this one’s going back to Amazon.

The chain was returned, standard Amazon return and in 4 hours I had my $72 back. I ended up purchasing the 114 link of the same chain but new this time to avoid any fuss. $98 plus tax. Still not horrible for a D.I.D. 530 chain. The front sprocket was on sale for less than $10 so I went ahead and snagged that too. Overall the Amazon return chain was a bust if it worked out then it could have been a great deal.

Didn't hurt to try it, sometimes it works out sometimes it doesn't
