My condolences to both of you. Losing a father is hard, I lost mine over 21 years ago, it still hurts sometimes.

You can only be young once, but you can be immature forever!

Thanks for the kind words.

My Dad was 91 and in very poor health this past year, so this had been expected for a while - not that it makes it easier to accept he's gone.

The toughest part was going sorting through his personal belongings. Fortunately my Dad was very organized (25 years in the military will do that) and had his will, bank accounts and the like fully documented.

It does make you reflect back on what your parents did for you. At age 16, my Dad surprised me with a moped (the only thing you can drive in England at that age). From that came my passion for motorcycles. If he hadn't got me started on motorcycles, I know I'd be doing something else today.

Make sure you and your parents have a will drawn up, and it is kept current. Having been through a couple of family situations where a relative didn't have a will, it complicates things dramatically - and can bring out serious family infighting

Thats a big 10-4
My Mother past away in July of 08 and she thought she had her ducks in a row. (She was a college professor at the University of South Florida, Hence my avitar is a tribute to Mom) Well she had nothing in order it went into probate the lawyers make out good with probate. It is still in probate and has turned into a quagmire. Jeffs advice is exactly the way it should be to close that chapter in life without a bunch of legal headaches
