i had to see this ...Amy chose to see it also...i was just watching the race taped @ 430 am cali time and did not know what was about to happen...the show went to a taped segment and i had to go online to learn that Marco had passed...

It is a sad day for motorsport indeed. A unique talent has been lost. I really feel that Marco would have been a serious contender for the championship in the next two years. That video is horrific.

Tragic...I just happened to be watching the race when it took place. Took awhile to figure out what was going on though...no one seemed to know the extent of the accident for a long time.

SuperSic was our Buddy right away...you know when you like someone...right away...before him...marco melandri was a last season rider for the ZXRRR and we were just meeting/monterey...awesome times... dating and were just watching our first race weekend at seca ....perfect...sport....perfect track..location...me now moved here...super special times...for us.,.....Melandri...now kicking butt in superbikes fim took some giant rag dolls trying to make that black last year secret zxrrr to its best finishes ..without even stickers......so we were big Marco fans of sort..then Melandri went to superbikes

then we saw Marco Simoncelli on T.V and knew we were seeing something cool.....(we dont get the 250cc...motoII now...here @seca cause of size constraints) Marco was exciting...we knew right away when he came to the premiere we were gonna back him.....he came here and was sliding on the second lap ...too cool...

now this year..we thought he would do so well...

It was tough season and he took many chances...he drew fire...a lot of fire...

do you worry about dying on the motorcycle

he said no no i live more in five minutes on a bike doing this ,than most people do in their whole lifetime

We were big fans and were sad when he had crashed with those guys and folks got hurt this season...now this


I was watching the race and had no idea...i knew right away but like racer54 said they really could not say on the t.v and the pits did not know...i have never been affected by a sports star dying and feel like my family member has just been killed in front of me.....i cried all morning and woke amy up @ 430 ...we sat there and sat there all morning...i cant watch it again..ever

to sit on my couch smiling,unknowing, watching my favorite sport and sipping coffee...and see my favorite rider die in a flash......i was balling...i just am not liking bikes at the moment the same and may never again fell as i did about bikes

I can not fathom going to the track....this day sucked..
