Lost a buddy this past week that was one good dude. The type of guy that would give his shirt off his back if you asked him to.

You guys would have loved him. He was a resto nut and loved his Kawasaki's. He's also the one that was the enabler in the process of buying my KZ900 way back when. I had recently moved to Phoenix, gave him a call and said I was interested in buying a Harley. I think his exact words were "why the hell would you want to do that?" He then said someone had dropped off a brown KZ900 that was a little rough but would be beautiful when we finished with it. He was right.

He had this quote by Hunter Thompson hanging in his garage and it's exactly how he lived his life.

“Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!”

RIP Bart, I truly enjoyed our time together.

A few pics of some of his collection.

Perfect quote for alcoholics, drag addicts, smokers, junk food eaters who get high blood pressure, heart attacks and strokes. Perfect excuse for stupidity.

That comment seams inappropriate to me sir. This man just lost a good friend and this is your reply? I think you are missing the point. What the quote means sir, is live life to the fullest. I know plenty of folks that ate right, worked out and died in their 40's-50's.

And the comment was in poor taste, judgement and crass.

I'm pretty new here but that comment car5car is easily the nastiest thing I've ever seen here at KZR. Please reconsider, the guy just lost a good friend and for all you know his friend never ever smoked drank or behaved recklessly. Condolences austin3119.

I didn't say anything! You are right. Post was deleted.
My comment was not directed toward anybody, it was just my opinion about the quote.
Sorry, I was wrong.

My sincere condolences.

I have a 1980 Kawasaki KZ750 Ltd. I bought new. I recently managed to get it out of my garage after 28 years and put it on the road again (2010). I feel like a kid all over again. Since I have acquired 3 78 KZ1000 Ltd, 1 1981 KZ1000 Ltd, and another 1980 KZ750 Ltd. Love the LTD's.
