Sorry for the short notice all but for those of you that live in the phoenix area...

Tomorrow (I know, I know short notice) A couple of buddies and I are meeting at 7:30am for an early morning ride up the mountain to Payson.

We're meeting at the last gas station just outside of Fountain Hills on Shea Blvd (South side) just before the Bee Line Hwy...

We will have stops here and there and if open, stop at the bike junk yard in Rye Az for some wishful shopping.... Then up to Payson for some lunch and gas then back down the hill...

Nice little day trip B)

So if you're bored and want to ride, feel free to join us... All kinds of bikes welcome, we don't care what you ride, we don't have hang ups and if you have attitude, well keep that crap at home....

The Corbin Seats are extremely well built... At first, it was hard and I had thoughts about it but now with some time in the seat it's started to soften up some... I expect with a few more miles it will be still firm, not soft & mushy, but comfortable just the same.

Over all, happy with it.

Ok, the trip was a success, no problems and no tickets... weather was on the spot, nice and cool and no motor over heating sounds... I assume to 80 degree weather and the 20w/50 oil change.

Here's the route....

Just a few images...

7:30am meet up in Fountain Hills Az, met at our start point and came across another group (mostly HD's) so the introductions and conversations began.

My buds Spencer on the Triumph Thruxton 900 and Phil on the VFR 800... Had several HD guys & gals come up and go holly shit, that is a KZ900 right? B) The the conversation went into what I had accomplished in the motor build...

They where cool and asked if we wanted to ride with them further North... Unfortunately, not this time...

Up to Rye Az for the bike salvage yard... Not open yet...
It's a shame, they just leave these bikes out in the AZ heat to rot away...

Up to Payson Az for a little Denny's Grand Slam breakfast...

Then the back winding mountain rd to Campe Verde Az....
My buds where opening it up here... I started with keeping up with them but found at 85mph I was developing a little wobble on the front end... At the time figured it was just new conversion suspension not dialed in yet...

Turned out my front right plastic fender guard has a crease in it and was rubbing on the right rotor... WTF! have no idea how or where this occurred....

Anyhoot, bent it out as much as possible, 90mph plus ok, not too bad...

On the way down the hill, drastic increase in heat.... ~ 100F now and we come across a guy pushing his KTM... Out of gas! Well it was his lucjy day for a truck stopped and we helped him push it up to the truck... They offered to give him a lift which meant we had to lift the bike into the back of the truck...

As we're discussing the method, another truck with quad trailer pulls up... Wouldn't you know it, he has a mini gas pump! :woohoo:

Hand shakes and thanks are passed around and back on the way home....

All in all, was a fine day with the old girl! B)
