Long trip starting tomorrow AM

Finally got everything right on the bike. Was gonna leave today but looking the bike over found a crack in a bad place on the fairing. So instead of riding off into the sunset this AM I spent the day fixing the fairing. All packed now, well over 100# of gear in and on the luggage.

Going to West Fargo ND for a fireworks convention then on to Back Hills area, probably stop in Sturgis and look at the bodies. Cruise around the Black Hills Nat'l Forest, then west and south through the Rocky Mountains to Las Vegas, New Mexico. Stay for 3 weeks or so then back to SE WI by a more direct route through KC. 4K to 5K miles in 5 weeks. I'll send pics if I can figure out my new smart phone.

How many traveling with you?

Riding alone. May pick up some company on the way, who knows. I subscribed to Roadside Assistance through Sprint, connects to AAA. I'm retired, freedom is 24/7/365.

Be safe out there. If you need to do some maitenance on your bike, when you go through Colorado, PM me. I'm in Colorado Springs, not far off I25. I ride alone on most of my trips too.

Awesome dude! I'm down in Redlands, CA (close to where I-215 and I-10 meet) if you get down that way and need a wrench- give me a holler.

I made it to Las Vegas. 10 days 2250 miles. One woops in Co. Sprgs. Dumped it on an onramp after leaving the sidestand down after gassing up on 8/19. 2 fire trucks paramedics, 2 local cops and 2 state cops responded. The fairing took the damage. Busted windshied and large crack on the inside, all repairable. I suffered bruises to my body and feel stupid. I rode the remaining 250 miles dodging rain storms with

2nd pic is Rocky My. Natl. Park. Road climbs to near 12000 ft. It's cold up there. Bike ran like shut. Would not recomend going there without EFI. or CV barbs.

Awesome, glad to hear you're staying out of trouble! I've been up to 10,000 feet before- didn't have any major problems. Bike was running a smidge rich at 1,300 feet even.

I heard about that incident on the news. Never figured it was you. Good to here you made it down to Las Vegas.
After you dumped it you could have PM'd me and I would have helped you out. There has even been some Fairings and windshields for sale around here on CL. But sounds like you'll fix it up down there.
