I truthfully can say after the k&n air filter and 4-1 exhaust pipes, that the jet kit was needed.but little did I know that I am not the only psychopath out there doing stupid crap on the public roads.

After riding this thing like a banshee all year round I admit I feel followed alot of the time. I noticed a lady tailing me for a few blocks while talking on a cell phone while I was changing lanes to avoid her. I was hesitant to think she was going to kidnap me and throw me in the back with a hog tie.

another time another motorcyclist wearing a Mellon-cap style helmet and a bandanna around his face scared me by pointing his finger in a gunlike motion.
I am confident it is all mostly coincidental because it happens in front of me also. I almost slid into the back of a pickup while going to the store to get some marvel mystery oil. I ended up following him most of the way from the public road to the parking lot until he pulled a u-turn and looked at me like he was avoiding the plague.

I do believe that without the back part of the exhaust while on the freeway might be too loud, but it was awesome when up-shifting from high rpm near Ft Lewis. Although the backfire seemed like gunfire, and was pointed at my back tire, which who knows could have been covered with gasoline already and caught fire.

I would get more thumbs up than bad looks. Comparing the smooth sound of a four cylinder open header bike to the two cylinder shot gun pipes is like sweet music running 5200 Rpms.

do you notice the chain in the pic with the cutoff turnpipe? I think that is one of the Teflon coated ones, the sprockets say sunstar. I am going to try the wire brush, I am not sure about cleaner. from what I understand oiling the outside (non wheel side) of the chain on the outside of the sprocket is ok, now I am having my doubts.

cleaned the chain with foaming engine degreaser, oiled it now it needs to be tightened. It seems like the chain sprocket on the wheel is loose, maybe I put it in wrong.

have not taken the bike out with the pod filters yet, but it doesn't seem to run so rich as far as the fuel mixture is concerned. blinkers need to be mounted properly and the exhaust needs work. I would like to find a brace for the carbs so they are not bouncing over bumps.

pod filters.

k&n inside the airbox.(could have gotten a larger filter and taken the cup thing out of the bottom)

for reference the video with the pod filters had a stuck slide.

it would appear that right by that oil filter is the bolt that holds the hole for the oil cooler line that can be added. extra runoff from the oil filter goes to the oil cooler in this case, despite what I had previously thought.

I went for a 60 mile road trip and I either need to create more back pressure in the exhaust system or set it back to stock.
These air filters don't make me happy and it is 43 degrees outside.
For what it is worth it has been fun but i don't want to be cold when I get break my neck.
