More Colorado! was created by missionkz
305 miles on the fresh top end overhaul with 1075cc kit.
My two riding buddies... Jim's big Harley with 12:1 Pistons and all kinds of hot rod mods. And Danny's 2014 Triumph Bonny and of course my 77' KZ1000.
This was a couple hours ago over Squaw Pass near Mount Evans

No, I have only cranked a bit in the first 25 miles to force the rings in.
Then I've been city driving, back roading it at 45-50mph (up and down speeds) and occasionally a 2-4 mile ride on the freeway at under 45mph to 60mph... making people mad at me.
Pulling my hair out with anticipation but I have only been one third to half throttle since around after 200miles a couple times and have not rev'd it past 4500rpm -5000rpm max.
I did have to ride on I-70 today for a few miles at 65 in fifth gear. That was top RPM for me so far.
Going to change the oil Saturday and start flexing the muscles a bit.
Still have that odd burble off idle speed to 2500rpm with +1/8 throttle... worse from a dead start at a light.
Didn't do that before the 2mm overbore 10.25:1 piston and head swap last Thursday.

Lean flat spot. Bigger mains? I had 117.5's when it was a 903.

#20 pilot jets, needle clips stock, 115 main jets and mixture screws at 1.5 to 1.75
Idle speed 1250-1300 rpm.
I have a set of 120 jets, no 117.5 s. I might try dropping a notch on the needle clips.

You're at high elevation. I forgot. Try the 120's and lower the needle to fine tune. If too rich, go back to the 115's. The 117.5's might be the sweet spot you're looking for.
