Mods vs. Rockers 2016 (SoCal) was created by I_Tig_in_piece
Went to visit a few friends for a few hours at Trophys on sat and show off the KZ (which everyone liked a lot) also helped pack some boxes and load shelves onto trucks for their relocation, during which time I was told about "Mods vs. Rockers" ride in SoCal at the end of this month. First time I've heard of it,(hermit) but sounds like a blast!

Anyone here on the forum attending this year?

If you yourself are building an older bike and can see it through till you're riding it, that's proof you have patience.

I was out North of Bakersfield in the mountains when I saw a MODs run with hundreds of those dolled up scooters . It was really fun to watch them all with their fancy clothes and more lights than a airport runway.
They were very nice and organised as I stopped at a bike wreck ( Not one of them ). They had a Mod paramedic crew with them
and Im retired EMT Fire Chief and we fixed the down rider up and had him packaged and stable by the time the local EMS ? Fire crews showed up.
I know this will spark comments as the downed rider was on a HD Fatboy with apehangers that were so tall he could barely reach them.
He was at a party store when I earlier rode up and asked him how that thing rode? He said great . But 30 minutes later he was my patient.
Anyway the Mods were on a huge run and were a great help

Just watch Quadrophenia. Especially if you like the WHO. I'm surprised the Moto Club I sometimes ride with has never sponsored a local ride with the scooters. The 50th anniversary of the riots just passed in 2014. Seems more people are taking an interest.

Wikipedia Mods versus Rockers to get an idea of where it all started (ocean-side fights in England, not the recent bike events).
It was all really just hooliganism.

"The Mod Squad" were neither mods, nor really a squad... discuss.

I understand all that. I never liked the Mod Squad, glorified narcs to me. I was talking about the current ride event. Seems to be little interest.
