Hey everyone,
The 1990 kz1000p I'm on stayed running a little rough in roanoke when I pulled in,  but seemed alright in the morning.   I made a long ride to next to Nashville to my brother's house.   Now the bike was really running rough.  I got weak spark on a couple cylinders so I tested the ignition system and replaced the plugs and wires based on the numbers.   Sounds much better but I'm getting no fuel into cylinder 2.  Tore down the carbs all the way except can't find a good screwdriver to fit the pilot jet and don't have a compressor to blow everything out.   My brother's already shipped his stuff back to New England,  so I just have the tools I brought/ can find and I'm on foot.  Precious few metric shops around,  I left a message with one that opens tomorrow morning.   Any ideas? I gotta leave town soon.

Thanks,
Rick

Lacking air I would use cans of carb cleaner sprayed into all the  jets and tubes

Are you sure the rough running problem is the carbs?  Did you see rust in the float bowls?  It can't be varnish, since you are riding everyday.  And rust will show remnants.

How long since the last valve adjustment?

You should be able to buy a can of compressed air at a computer shop.

I have several restored bikes along with a 2006 Goldwing with a sidecar. My wife has a 2019 Suzuki DR 650 for on and off road.

Update:
There was a good amount of rust in the bowls that had just started to pull free.  I called Andrew at Nashville Motorcycle Repair where I had gotten the wire and caps and he got me in the next day (today). He replaced a wonky jet and cleaned and blew them out for me for a song and a dance.  Just got back to the bike to reassemble and install them.  Wish me luck.  If this isn't it i I'll move on to the next thing thing in my flow chart (stuck Valve, probably).

My cop bike exhibited a few of the symptoms you describe, and I pulled my hair out replacing plug wires, plugs, igniter, carbs, etc. but it turned out to be the air injection system.
Might be a good thing to check to check since it's free to just hook the inlets together.

Well,  air injection system was upside down and blocked off,  but boy did she run like shit when I put it back to how it was supposed to be.  After new plug wires and caps,  cleaning the carbs,  cleaning all of the frame grounds and taking the carbs off again to fix the float levels and put Teflon tape around the valve seats. She seems to be back to normal.  Leaving Nashville in the morning to go down 40, wish me luck.
