750 Twin Tach Seal/O-ring/Gasket was created by Biquetoast
I have questions in regard to this thread from the archive (perhaps directed to steell):

When I bought each of my twins, they had no tach cables. I have long since installed a tach cable on my "runner", but it has always leaked a little oil.

Is the item # 92065-103 (GASKET,TACHOMETER GER) a pressed-in item like the oil seal itself, or is it loose?

I seem not to have it and I'm pretty sure it would solve my leak. Where's a good place to get one? Can I just use an o-ring instead?

Thanks in advance...

I have a couple of full gasket sets, along with three top end gasket sets, and that seal is not included in any of them :(
The seal fits around the stem, and inside the housing, it comes out pretty easy with something like a dental pick, but unfortunately I have been unable to find the seals anywhere. I ended up using an o-ring that was a fairly tight fit around the stem and inside the housing (with the seal still in place), and it worked, no more oil leaks. I don't recall what size the o-ring was, I just went through my collection until I found one that fit.
Just so everyone knows what we are talking about :)

Thanks for the helpful reply.

Just for grins, I ordered one from BikeBandit.com for $2.40 + $4 Shipping. If it turns out to be just a rubber o-ring, well, then I'll buy one at the hardware store for my second bike. ;)

I can't wait to be free of oil drip-drip-dripping on my exhaust header! All this time I thought it was the inner seal...

By the way, the part I'm describing is #6 in that picture you posted...

I think you should order a #7 92050-075 Oil seal also, it's a flat rubber washer and I think that is probably the main cause of the leak. I have 4 motors and that seal was bad in every one of them, that's why I had to find a thicker o-ring as the stock one just slowed down the leak.

You can buy both the seal, #92050-075, and the o-ring, #92065-103, as a seal kit from Z Power, Uk.
The price is £6.00.
